The purpose of this project was to undertake a contextual assessment of the Bayers Road United Baptist Church; so that clear recommendations and a plan of action to implement them would be made to the Church for the purpose of making its ministry and mission in the city more effective. This project will include a contextual assessment that involves using historical data and demographic statistics of the church and community to get a profile of the church in the urban context. This contextual assessment also involves using research tools such as surveys and evaluation questionnaires.
Chapter one is an introduction to the project. Chapters two, three and four provide the theological, qualitative and quantitative materials that became the basis for the specific recommendations given in chapter five.
