Support of Pastoral Salaries (Pastoral Ministry Grant)

Pastoral Ministry Grants may be extended for three situations:

1. On-going Pastoral Ministry

To assist established local churches within the Convention to cover the salary related expenses of a pastor serving in either a full-time or part-time capacity, whether permanent or interim.

2. Church Planting or Re-Planting Ministry

To assist new church plants or churches considered to be a radical re-planting situations within the Convention to cover the salary related expenses of a pastor serving in either a full-time or part-time capacity, whether permanent or interim.

3. Special Mission Partnerships

To assist local churches or agencies within our Convention in carrying out ministries that qualify as Special Mission Projects. Under this category grants may also be available for mission partnerships with non-Convention agencies if that partnership enables the Board to achieve its stated Ends. These would be primarily at the initiative of the Board.

Notwithstanding the above, the Board reserves the right to consider applications and extend grants that do not fall exactly within the prescribed criteria. In all instances, however, the grant is extended to help cover the salary related costs to the church for the pastor/missionary involved in ministry.

A Pastoral Ministry Grant Application will be considered by the Atlantic Baptist Mission Board only upon the following conditions:

  1. That the application has been processed through the respective Association and contains a written recommendation from them.
  2. That the Area/Regional Minister has been involved in the application process.
  3. That all requested documentation (financial and otherwise) is included with the application.
