United in Mission
United in Mission is the name of the general mission fund of our Convention, and it is through this collaborative giving that member churches can together have such a dynamic impact in Atlantic Canada and beyond. The ultimate purpose of the churches who make up our Convention is to “be and make disciples”, and as a mission partnership we work toward this through three primary objectives of ‘evangelizing’, ‘teaching’ and ‘serving’ (or resourcing).
We seek to fulfill these three objectives through six core ministry priorities:
- Healthy Churches
- Effective Pastors
- Creative Mission
- Passionate Next-Generations
- Focused Compassion
- Celebrated Community
Our six core ministry priorities provide a narrative budget for the United in Mission fund. That is, together these priorities tell the story of how your giving is invested towards our ultimate objective of “helping churches grow passionate disciples of Christ”. For an example of this see the Growing Healthy Churches brochure.
Sometimes people ask the question of how much of every dollar goes for mission. The answer is that every cent of every dollar goes toward mission (whether locally or globally) for everything we do – whether in relation to evangelizing, teaching, or serving/resourcing – is about accomplishing our shared mission together of being churches helping churches grow passionate disciples!
