Let's Talk about (G)racism
A presentation by Rev. Sherrolyn Riley and Lois Mitchell. In this talk Lois speaks about the importance of checking our bearings to ensure that we are really following the teachings of Christ in our daily lives. What does the Bible have to say about race and racism? Is there really any such thing as "race" or has the concept of race simply been used to justify social inequalities? What is racism and how does it affect all of us, regardless of skin colour or language or ethnicity? Rev. Riley then explores a number of passages of Scripture as a means of demonstrating how grace can counteract the negative impact of racism on individuals and society.
Sexual Disorientation: A Ministry Resource for Responding to Issues of Same Sex Attraction
This resource is produced by Canadian Baptist Ministries. It is the product of the collaboration of a number of individuals who desire to see the church respond more effectively and compassionately to those in our midst and in our communities who experience same sex attraction. The content of this resource is premised on an understanding of Scripture which defines homosexual practice as contrary to human flourishing. In light of the current public debate in Canada concerning the legal recognition of same sex unions and political advocacy on this issue, this resource aims to refocus our attention on ministry.
This DVD/CD is designed for use by individuals, small groups, and congregations who are willing to wrestle honestly with questions concerning same sex attraction and the church's ministry in this area. Our intention is that these materials will stimulate healthy dialogue and discussion and that consequently, those who use the resource will be challenged to examine both themselves and Scripture and become more effective witnesses and proclaimers of God's love.
This resource is intended as a tool for ministry. The views expressed in the DVD and CD are those of the contributors. We believe, however, that they are consistent with statements and resolutions adopted by CBM and the Conventions and Unions.

The Marriage Issue
The possible redefinition of marriage is a very contentious issue in Canadian Society. Where should the church stand on this issue and how can we influence the political process in a positive manner? These are the questions which Lois Mitchell addresses in this multi-media resource. The audio presentation contained on the CD looks at the issue from a variety of angles: the political and legal context, social considerations, a theological foundation, and thoughts and suggestions as to how Christians might effectively engage our culture on this issue. This resource is provided by Canadian Baptist Ministries and the regional Conventions and Unions in the hopes that it will help individuals and churches be better informed and equipped to be salt and light in their communities.
