New Information for Haiti Relief

Here is the latest information about how you can help in the relief efforts in Haiti. The information provided in the previous news story, UPDATE, is still correct with one addition about churches involved in fundraising.
CBM has provided a form for churches in order to expedite and simplify the process. Visit Canadian Baptist Ministries for more information and to download the form. Or you can download the form below. The church can collect the money and issue receipts for fundraising efforts by individuals. The church will need to hold the donation information (names, addresses & amounts given) if verification is required later. By sending in the verification form, the church is signing off that they have the documentation. Then just send the form and a cheque made out to Canadian Baptist Ministries/The Sharing Way with a notation specifically for "Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund" as a notation on the cheque and mail it to:
Canadian Baptist Ministries
7185 Millcreek Drive
Mississauga, ON
L5N 5R4
It is our understanding that this form would also cover money from a fundraiser or cash donations without donor information.
Within the past few days, the Canadian government has lifted the $50 million dollar cap on donations that would be matched. The only limitation placed on donations that will be matched through CIDA is the February 12th deadline.
Many individuals and churches in our Convention are responding to the tragic events in Haiti in amazing ways. If you want to share what your church is doing, send us a note with a picture and we'll post it on our website.
