Capacity Crowd says Farewell to Gardners

A capacity crowd of 400 people from across our Convention gathered at Atlantic Baptist University on Friday night, September 21st to say thank you and farewell to Dr. Harry Gardner and his wife Gail. Dr. Gardner is completing 12 years of service as Executive Minister and a total of 21 years as a member of our Convention’s staff.
The evening included a delicious meal, tributes from leaders from across our Convention, and beautiful music from harpist Dorothy Brzezicki and fiddler Stephanie Mainville. Gail was presented with a stunning bouquet of flowers, Harry was given an ipod, and the couple was presented with a grandfather clock for their new home in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia.
In his remarks at the end of the evening, Harry expressed that he was overwhelmed at the show of appreciation and noted with special joy the presence of leaders from the African United Baptist Association. He thanked those present for the trust they had placed in him as a leader over the past two decades and that he looked forward to many more years of fellowship and friendship in his new role as President of the Convention’s seminary, Acadia Divinity College.
