“The lack of knowledge of the Word of God is unfortunately being passed on to the next generation of believers. Therefore, the training of pastors is an urgent need.” These are the words from Biraj, a marine engineer and layperson in West Bengal, India. Rev. Shant Manuel, part-time Pastor of Hammonds Plains First Baptist Church, NS, has heard this cry and is seeking ways to answer it. Shant has been involved in pastoral ministry within our Convention and has also been deeply impacted through mission opportunities to places like Cuba, Indonesia, Nepal and India.

Youth Ministry Courses

Youth Ministry Courses

During the fall semester, Acadia Divinity College will be offering two weekend courses in Youth Ministry. Rev. Dale Stairs, Director of the Youth Ministry Program at ADC and Director of Youth & Family Ministries for CABC, will teach Evangelism and Discipleship of Youth on September 25/26, November 13/14, and November 27/28. The class will meet on the ADC campus, Wolfville, NS, Fridays 3:00-9:00pm and Saturdays 9:00am-4:00pm. The class will explore strategies youth leaders and pastors can employ to help youth come to faith in Christ and grow in that faith.

Researching Youth and Youth Leaders

A team of researchers from the Convention of Atlantic Baptist Churches (CABC) and Acadia Divinity College (ADC) collaborated to learn more about youth and youth leaders involved in Tidal Impact 2009. Tidal Impact, Canada’s largest youth mission program, is sponsored by the Convention of Atlantic Baptist Churches and is held on alternating summers in different locations in Atlantic Canada.

The Convention of Atlantic Baptist Churches is seeking to hire a qualified person for the position of Executive Assistant to the Executive Minister. This person would be working closely with the Executive Minister involving a wide variety of tasks and responsibilities. They would be responsible directly to the Executive Minister. See the posted Job Description for further details.
