      Meals and Accommodations

To better enjoy the sense of community during Oasis, most people choose to eat their meals on campus at Wheelock Dining Hall and stay in one of the university’s dormitories. To take advantage of this option please contact the university toll free: 1 (800) 542-8425 or online @ http://events.acadiau.ca/baptist [6]. Please book your room early to avoid disappointment. For your convenience, meal cards and room keys can be picked up at registration in the lobby of University Hall. If you prefer to eat off campus, there are a few restaurant options within walking distance.
There are also a variety of restaurants in New Minas, a 10-minute drive from the campus. Should you prefer hotel, B&B, or camping accommodations, you can find extensive information and make reservations at www. novascotia.com or by calling Tourism Nova Scotia 1 (800) 565-0000. Early reservations for any of these options are encouraged.. There are also some local restaurant options you may wish to experience.

FAQs
Flexitab 1 Content:

Q. When I arrive on Campus where should I go?

A. If you have registered to stay on campus you should go directly to the Atlantic Theatre Festival Building on Main Street. There you will get your room key and meal card. You should also drop by the lobby of University Hall as soon as you arrive to pick up your arrival information and name tag.

Q. Where should I plan to stay during Oasis?

A. There are a number of great options in Wolfville:

  • University dormitories (reserve these directly with the university at 1 800 542 8425)
  • local hotels, campgrounds and B&B’s (call NS tourism 1 800 565 0000)

Q. I can’t come for the whole event, but would like to attend some sessions. Is this possible?

A. Absolutely! You can either register for the entire event or for a reduced rate only attend the evening sessions

Q. Why is there so many great seminars and only two times to take them in?

A. The Oasis planning team has worked hard to provide a wide variety of options in order to appeal to everyone who attends

Q. My children will be in the Oasis Kids program, when do I pick them up and drop them off?

A. Both Oasis Kids and Oasis Youth start 15 minutes before the main session start, and finish 15 minutes after the sessions are SCHEDULED to end.

Q. I’m attending a Baptist Church but am not a member, can I register for Oasis?

A. Certainly! You can register as a not voting attendee and take part in every part of Oasis!

Q. If I am busy with something is it ok for me to send someone else to pick up my children from Oasis Kids and Oasis Youth?

A. No. In order to protect your children they must be picked up only by the parent(s) who signed them in. However, High School Students attending Oasis Youth may leave on their own when their program is finished.

Q. How is it possible that a conference like this is put together for such a low cost?

A. Now that is a really good question!! Oasis is planned by a number of volunteers as well as convention staff. Your registration fee does not pay for their time in planning the event.
