Tidal Impact 2009 was an event that so many people will remember for so many reasons. Communities and neighbourhoods saw an influx of energetic and excited youth eager to make a difference. Churches were energized as they worked together and interacted. Hearts and lives were challenged and changed as they were met with the love of God. And as faith was put into action, the hungry were fed. Rally speakers (Mark Buchannan, Jonathan McKee and Rob Nylen) challenged both the youth and the leaders at the events. And the quality and sincerity of the worship leaders (Nathan Tasker, Sean Dayton & Jayme Hall) exceeded all expectations.
A new component of Tidal Impact was a food drive. Over 800 youth canvassed Southern New Brunswick in the largest intensive food drive in the area’s history. Publicity for the food drive was graciously given by TV, Radio and Newspapers in the region. Approximately 25,000 lbs of food was gathered, enough to provide two months worth of food for area food banks!
Youth and leaders from across the region are claiming this to be the best Tidal Impact ever. Rev Mark Archibald of Nashwaaksis Baptist said “This year's Tidal Impact was the best experience I've had with our group in the 3 years that I've done TI. Everything that the TI team was responsible for was fantastic - the local rallies, the food drive, the afternoon at (Camp) Tulakadik, the flexible schedule…the event is an amazing combo of schedule and flexibility.”
Tidal Impact [1] happens every two years and is planned by a team of volunteers who work with CABC staff for nearly a year and a half before the event. We are looking forward to what God has planned for TI 2011. See you there!
