Springforth 2010

Excitement is building as preparations continue for Springforth! It is anticipated that hundreds of youth and leaders from across our Convention will come together in Moncton on May 7-8 to participate in this annual event held in Moncton, NB.

This year our theme is "ROOTED." The middle school track's emphasis will be on evangelism, our high school track on discipleship, and our leaders track on training. This event is made possible through the partial sponsorship by our Convention’s United in Mission Fund. Groups can now register through our Springforth [1] website!

We are excited to have Dr. Dave Currie as the High School speaker and the male relationship facilitator, and his daughter Jody Wandruza as the Senior High female relationship facilitator. Also, Heather Flies from Minnesota will be our Middle School speaker and Paul Robertson will be our leader’s speaker. Worship will be led by local bands: From the Deep at the Middle School site and Atlantic at the High School site.

New this year is the Film Festival [2] at the High School site where students who are interested in making films can showcase their talents. There is also an Internship Program [3] which will provide an opportunity for young adults (and older high school students) to serve God by using their gifts at the Middle School site. A youth choir of 30 students is also being brought together to help lead worship at one of the High School rallies (for more information please e-mail Jody Linkletter [4]). Springforth continues to expand and provide new opportunities for both youth and leaders to grow, to be challenged and to serve. We are looking forward to how God will continue to move at this event.

Students at Springforth 2009 brought in nearly $4000 in their offerings to help improve the health of individuals in Bolivia and Africa. This year our offering will have an education theme where students will have the chance to help youth leaders in Europe receive training and allow refugee children in Africa to attend primary school for a year. A portion of the High School offering will also be given towards Crandall University’s (currently Atlantic Baptist University) campaign to help continue their vision of transforming lives through quality university education firmly rooted in the Christian faith.

Continue to check out the Springforth [1] website for updated information and don’t forget to register by April 23rd in order to receive the registration price of $40 per person. After April 23rd, 2010 the price is $50 per person.

Springforth could never happen without the planning teams, the Atlantic Baptist Youth Executive [5], the many volunteers, and the generosity of the Moncton-area churches that provide free accommodations for groups who travel from away. Thank you for your hard work and we look forward to see everyone on May 7th!
