The Atlantic Baptist Youth executive provides an opportunity for youth over the age of fifteen to SERVE the youth of this region, to CONNECT with other Christian leaders, and to LEAD at a regional level. Elected every two years, the executive meets five times a year to plan and provide leadership for youth and young adult events sponsored by our Convention such as the Senior High track at Springforth, the Tidal Impact Mission Program and other young adult initiatives.

Atlantic Baptist Youth Executive is a group of youth and young adults that are elected every two years by their peers. The ABY is an opportunity for youth and young adults between the ages of 15-26 to gain experience as leaders on the regional level by serving on the Executive. These individuals plan events that help to provide opportunities for Christian youth and young adults to connect and build relationships with one another as well as for them to celebrate their faith and grow in their Christian commitment.
At High school Springforth 2011 the ABY executive elections will be held. There are positions for NS reps (2), NB reps (2), PEI rep (1), vice-president, secretary, treasurer and president (this individual is required to have already been on the executive for one term). If you have a youth you that you think would be interested in this opportunity, could you please a) let them know and b) pass along their name and contact information to Jody Linkletter as nominations are now open. There is a form that the candidates will need to fill out, along with a pastor’s reference and 10 peer’s signatures. This is a great opportunity for your youth to have a voice in the planning of events like Springforth, Tidal Impact etc as well as to grow in their leadership skills within a Christian environment. The deadline for nominations and submission of notice of intent is March 15, 2011.
The Executive normally meets four weekends per year at different locations in the Maritimes as well as during events such as Springforth, Tidal Impact and Oasis. Elected members are expected to attend a minimum of 75% of executive meetings, including events during their terms, and are responsible for completing assigned tasks between meetings or by the appropriate deadlines. Approved travel expenses are reimbursed by the executive.
The following positions are available on the executive and are filled by popular vote every two years:

If you are interested in serving on the Executive, please contact Jody Linkletter [8].
Founded in 1930, Atlantic Baptist Youth (ABY) has provided hundreds of Baptist youthages 15-28 with the opportunity to develop and hone their leadership skills by serving their peers in region-wide leadership positions.
The ABY executive helps in the planning and leading of High School Springforth, the biannual Tidal Impact youth mission tour, other regional rallies, and young adult initiatives. Frequently those on the executive receive opportunity to serve in other capacities in denominational life and they also develop friendships with other young leaders from across the region through leadership exchanges.
