Robert (Bob) Berry is a retired pastor and mission executive with 40 years of ministry experience. Born in Moncton, NB, Bob worked briefly at a Moncton bank before moving to Boston to study at Gordon College and Gordon Divinity School in preparation for ministry. There he met and married Grace Lambert and following graduation they served in pastoral ministry in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia for 12 years. In 1970 Bob joined the staff of the Canadian Baptist International Ministries (CBIM) as an Associate Secretary with responsibilities for Personnel and Mission Education. In 1980 he was appointed General Secretary of CBM, a position he held until 1995 when he and Grace were appointed CBM Representatives for ministries in Europe and the Mediterranean region.

Bob has also received a Th.M in Missiology from Fuller School of World Missions. His thesis, “Leadership Training for Cross-cultural Workers” was the basis for the establishing of the BUILD program in Toronto which trained workers for ministry in urban and other cultural situations. He is the recipient of the Leadership Award from Fuller School of World Mission, the Merit Award from the Baptist Union of Western Canada, the Leadership Award from Atlantic Baptist University and in 1987 was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from Acadia University.

At the end of 1997 Bob and Grace retired after twenty-eight years service with Canadian Baptist Ministries. Grace passed away in October 2004 after a three year battle with cancer. Bob lives in Grand Bay, NB and has served as interim pastor at Hillcrest, Grand Bay, Germain Street and Main Street Baptist Churches. Bob has three sons: Rik, an artist and a pastor in Kentville, NS; Paul, a pastor in Halifax; and Glen, a clinical psychologist at the Regional Hospital in Kentville, NS. Another son, Don, died in 1978. Bob also has 12 grandchildren.
