Lois has a PhD in Sociology (from the University of New Brunswick, 1987). In addition to her work with CABC, Lois is the Justice Initiatives Coordinator for Canadian Baptist Ministries (CBM). She also teaches courses on Globalization and Civic Responsibility at Atlantic Baptist University. In 2005 Lois was a speaker at the Baptist World Alliance (BWA) Women’s Leadership Conference in Burmingham, England. In 2007 she was invited to present a workshop on Faith and Public Policy in Atlanta, Georgia at the New Baptist Covenant event (proposed and supported by former US President Jimmy Carter).

Currently, she is serving as CBM’s representative on a working group of the Canadian Council of Churches preparing for the G8 Summit being held in Canada in 2010 and on a public policy working group with the Canadian Foodgrains Bank.

Lois is a graduate of the Lay Pastors Training Program. As time and scheduling permits, Lois is available to speak in a variety of contexts: Association meetings, local Churches, Womens Retreats, etc.

Lois is married to Dale, a commercial fisherman, and they live on Deer Island, New Brunswick. They are active members of Lambert's Cove United Baptist Church. They have two adult children – Abbie and Judson - and one grandson - Cohen.
